Each view is counted, even if it is from the same contact.
You can see how many times a contact has viewed the email by clicking on the number of views in your stats. This will open a window with who has viewed the email and next to their information it will provide how many times they have viewed.
1. If a contact has forwarded it on and their contact opened the piece it will count as views for the contact you sent the piece to. For instance, my contact may have opened it once and forwarded it to 2 others who each opened once. Thus, the total views for my contact would show as 3.
2. If the email server a contact uses automatically opens the next email in their inbox it will count this as a new view.
